1 Year BlogAversary Part One

My Blog Journey

Well it’s hard to believe that I have been blogging regularly for a year now. It’s been tough at times, and I’m sure I’m not the only blogger that finds this. Some months I’ve not managed to post very much and other months I found it quite easy to post things.

I have found that during the year I have had a couple of slumps where I’ve found it hard to either finish a book or that for some unknown reason I just haven’t been able to settle down and read. Usually for me I have to read at least once a day otherwise I feel as though I’m going stir crazy. I also find that it helps me to relax.

Over the last 12 months I have started a few regular feature posts, that go out at the same time every month. Which I think and hopefully you’ll agree gives my blog a bit more structure, like with any magazine etc you’ll always find the regular features which is probably one of the reasons you read them as well as the new articles.

These Regular Features are:

• Books Acquired Via Bookbub (which is posted on 1st of every month)
• Amazon’s First Reads (which is posted on 2nd of the month)
• Monthly Round Up for the previous month (which is posted on the 3rd of the month)
• Random Book of the Month (which is posted on the 6th of the month)
• Favourite Authors (any date during the month)

You may have noticed that I have only managed to write about 2 of my favourite authors. Unfortunately this is down to me lacking in time, but hopefully this year I will manged to do this on a regularly basis (maybe every quarter instead of monthly)

Also over the past 12 months my monthly round up has changed, as I only posted the following:

• a list of the books reviewed including a link to the post
• a list of the tags used during the month
• a list of acquired books (Pr-orders, Amazon Fist Reads, Amazon Purchases, NetGalley, Book Blitz ARC’s)

Now I’ve added the following:

• Art work that I design for each months round up
• Books read during the month
• Book Blitz posted during the month
• Book Blitz Cover Reveals posted during the month

Lastly my latest addition to the monthly round up and one of my favourite parts of it is, choosing which was my favourite book covers for the following: Book Blitz, Book Blitz Cover Reveal, NetGalley & BookBub Cover.

The cover of a book is very important to me, as I’m sure it is with most of you. As that is what makes us pick up the book in the first place. In the past I have found that if I like the cover of the book I’ll either purchase it there and then or add it to my TBR list. However since I’ve started to blog about the books especially the ARC’s I have to like the cover and then I have to like the synopsis to see if it really is my kind of book.

I’m also like this about the Book Blitz and Cover Reveals that I post if I don’t like the cover or the synopsis then it won’t be posted on my blog.
